During the summer of 2025, Moss was awarded a studio next to Porthmeor beach, in St Ives, Cornwall. This area is famous for the legacy of The St Ives Painters, a colony of artists who were drawn to Cornwall for its particular light qualities in the 1940s-60s, and many of whom had Porthmeor Studios in this historic building.
Working with UV paint, which charges during the day in sunlight and then glows at night, Moss made a glow-in-the-dark mural featuring window frames from paintings by The St Ives Painters, including Patrick Heron, Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Ben and Winifred Nicholson and Christopher Wood. These ghostly windows were nearly invisible during the day, and then at night would slowly emerge and glow green in the dark, resembling mysterious portals - each time slightly different and dependent on the light conditions during the day. The title ‘Starlight’ refers to stars in the sky, which similarly to lost loved ones, are always there, even when you can’t see them.
