Pink Concrete, 2014

Civil engineering structures temporarily repaired with pink material disguised as concrete.

Revetments are angled concrete blocks, designed to reflect wave energy and prevent erosion. A pile of spare blocks were found by the side of a river, and one was taken back to the studio, where it was cast in a soft foaming pink and grey material. This was then used to repair hole in the wall, disguised with mud. No materials used for this intervention are toxic.
